ColdFusion Open-Source Update - January 26, 2009

Two new projects and six updates this week. As a side note, I am finally getting to rewrite the open source list as I had put on my todo list for this year. I am busy creating a new admin using Flex (with Mate) in order to make it much less of a pain to update and therefore (hopefully) I will update it more often. Anyway, here's this week's update.

Andy Matthews wrote this component that can connect to a variety of the URL shortening services out there.

Steven Ross has replaced his simpleConfig component launched last week with WDDXConfig to handle any data type for deployment configuration.

Hi, can someone please notify Steve Bryant his website is down due to a CF-error (ANYONE)? I've gotten this error now for the last couple of weeks (Nullpointer error in D:\Inetpub\bryantwebconsulting\CustomTags\com\sebtools\Manager.cfc: line 378), but haven't found an e-mail address where I can reach him. And as i don't twitter, I cannot twitter him either! It would be a shame not to have people use his DataMgr 2.2 - now it's LEAD and not GOLD ;-)

Thanks for the report. I have actually been fighting this error off and on for a bit. Pretty embarrassing that I don't have error handling on my site.

I do, however, get an alert any time my site is down. I will get the error trapping back up soon as well.

Sorry for the trouble.
