Five new projects and two updates in ColdFusion open source this week. Personally, I am feeling finally caught up having finished new articles for the Adobe Edge and the Adobe Developer Center this morning. The ADC article should be interesting as it will include a new open source project to hopefully make it easy for anyone who built a ColdFusion Builder extension to make that extension "auto-update." Nonetheless, more on that topic later when the article comes out... let's get to this week's updates.

I am not a professional reviewer, just a run of the mill gamer but since this blog is about the things I love and one of those is gaming, I figured I'd have some fun and share what games made my year. To give a little background on what I like, I have every system out there (PS3, Xbox, Wii, PSP, DS) but I have limited time to actually play any of them due to the demands of job, kids and a wife who doesn't feel like watching me play video games is an entertaining evening.

Thus, I don't tend to pick up any and all games, and commit my time to only those games I truly enjoy (and I shy away from the survival horror and RPG genres...so no Dragon Age or Left 4 Dead type games typically - I also notably missed Ratchet and Clank's latest and Borderlands, both of which I hope to pick up soon). Nonetheless, it was a great year of games in my mind with some real standouts. In no particular order, here are my favorite games of 2009 along with some honorable mentions and disappointments.

Five new projects and five updates this month. This post was originally intended for the week of December 21st but due to holiday travel and a backlog of article deadlines that I have for various publications, I had to postpone it. So now we have a monster update covering close to 40 posts about ColdFusion open source projects. In the meantime, my blog officially became 5 years old (on January 1st to be exact). Anyone who runs a blog knows how tough it can be to keep up consistent content for 5 years. While I haven't always been as consistent as I'd like to be (this is my 665th post in 5 years), this weekly post, which I have been doing for nearly 4 years, hadn't taken more than a week break until this month. Hopefully, I will have the time and energy to keep it going for 4 more years. Thanks to everyone for reading!
